Everyone is a LIB reader! Yay! The lady who was involved in the ghastly car accident in Lekki this morning saw the pics here and wrote in explaining how she met the men and what led to the accident. She was the only one who wasn't injured in the accident. See here. What she wrote below...
"Good morning Linda. I am the girl involved in that car accident with the three guys this morning. I went to to The Place club for a friend's birthday party and the guys offered to drop me off at my place. When I entered the car, I notice they were drunk. The one driving said that he is going to die so I asked them to drop me but they refuse and drove off with speed. Thank God I came out alive"

Amaechi Launches Dynamics Of Change

The Governor of Rivers State has made a public presentation of his book titled 'Dynamic Of Change: The Amaechi Years', yesterday, may 14, 2015.

Tinubu Speaks At Presentation Of A Book About Amaechi
The book was written about Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers state.
It was chaired by Hon. Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte with eminent guests, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah as the book reviewer amongst others.
Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka wrote the forward in the book. Prof. Soyinka, a long time friend of Ameachi took time off his seemingly tight schedule to write a very thought provoking and incisive forward which becomes an affirmation of what this book stands for, a veritable testimony to its import in the evolving political history of Nigeria.
Tinubu while speaking has defined Amaechi as a ‘General’ of the Common Sense Revolution Army.
APC national leader said that Rivers state governor was leaving behind a permanent legacy in state after eight years of meritable service to the people.
Find out Tinubu’s full speech below:
In the course of the historic campaigns for the 2015 presidential election I was emphatic that the election itself was a great opportunity to popularise and test the noble idea of a Common Sense Revolution in Nigeria. Soon enough we found in the resonance of the APC Change mantra with the electorate a confirmation that Nigeria needed a Common Sense Revolution that is non-violent.
Indeed there is a publication with that title authored by me in which I argued that Nigeria was ripe for a change of leadership and Nigerians must act in a Common Sense and rational way in choosing their leaders. The results of the March presidential elections and that of April have demonstrated clearly the desire by Nigerians for change.
Elections over, both the leaders and citizens must brace up to meet the challenges required to built a better, more prosperous nation. Indeed, even as we subscribe to the tenets of Common Sense Revolution, we must retool ourselves the new leadership must embark on policies that will improve the general well being of the mass of our people.
Permit me to recall here how I once attempted to encapsulate the idea of Common Sense Revolution: “… This revolution is not a violent one to tear things down it is a revolution to rescue us from violence, injustice and poverty.
It is a positive one to rescue, repair and restructure the nation and its institutions in ways that further collective prosperity and well-being. The only violence that is to be done is to violence, injustice and poverty themselves. At its essence, a common sense revolution is a call to return to a level of decency in the relationship between government and the governed, between each one of us and his neighbor…” That was at commissioning of people-centred projects on March 23, 2015 in Kano under the leadership of Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
We are here today, because one of the ‘Generals’ in the Common Sense Revolution Army, Rotimi Amaechi is bold and willing to show the world what he has achieved in the task to chart the critical path to total political and economic emancipation of the people whose mandate he enjoyed for 8 years.
In my view, our gathering to celebrate the landmark achievements of my brother, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, in Rivers State in the last eight years is also another justifiable celebration of idea of Common Sense Revolution for development. The publication of the book, Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years is a timely service to history. This occasion is all the more remarkable because of the huge challenges Amaechi has been facing especially in his second term from an extremely hostile federal government. His role as the chairman of the Governors’ Forum invariably brought him into a bitter collision with President Goodluck Jonathan.
Governor Amaechi and most of the governors want a properly defined federalist relationship with the government at the centre. The President would have none of that as in the notable example of the management of the federation account. This is, therefore, another great opportunity to salute Amaechi’s rare courage of conviction and sense of purpose. The APC has every cause to be proud of him.
You can, therefore, imagine how much gratified I feel at the immense intellectual efforts invested in the publication of Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years. I salute the editors and authors of essays in the book. It is thoughtful of them to document the legacy of Amaechi in Rivers state. The high quality schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, security and human capacity projects, among others, richly documented in the book are a testimony that social democratic ideas can indeed be implemented in this clime.
It is our hope that the legacy of governance for genuine development that Amaechi is leaving behind in Rivers would inspire state governments to make the welfare and security of the people the focus of governance. It is important to empahasise that security here includes social security if the war against poverty must be won.
The APC change agenda is anchored on the three Rs- Reform, Relief, Relief, and Recovery. It is the Tripod upon which Nigeria must operate in order to unleash her potentials.
Rotimi will go on from here to continue to serve Nigeria in key positions. He will not be alone. He will share the company of many change agents and professionals who have cast their lots with the new political order under the Leadership President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Once more, I congratulate Governor Amaechi as he leaves behind this proud legacy in Rivers State.

Rotimi Amaechi is the 15th and incumbent governor of Rivers state since 2007. He was re-elected for a second term on 26 April 2011.
There were speculations that Amaechi, who also was the Director General of Buhari Campaign Organisation, from the South South geo-political zone will head the incoming APC government’s cabinet as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

50 year-old woman delivers twins after 14 years of childlessness

Mrs Roseline Akinsola, 50, on Monday delivered a set of twins after 14 years of childlessness. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akinsola, who works at the Ekiti State Christian Pilgrims Board, was full of praises to God for answering her prayers.

The mother of two girls, who weighed 4.2kg and 2.3kg, advised other couples in need of children not to lose hope. In an interview with NAN, she expressed gratitude to God for giving her the children after several years.
"I thank God for the new name he has given to me; before, I was being called Iya Iyanu’’ without a child, but today, my name has changed to “Mummy Twins.’’ Many of my colleagues, friends and neighbours mocked and sidelined me, but because I stood firm on the words of God, He answered my prayers. I thank my husband, who inspite of the troubles and problems from family members, friends, colleagues and neighbours still believe in me and God.
He stood by me like a father in all ways and also believed in God all through the crisis. I also thank my siblings who stood by me in prayers for years. Let me thank God for all those who stood by me in prayers and encouraged me not to desist from serving God. These children are indeed signs that God never forgets his own people who diligently seek him and believe in his words, ” she said.
The father of the twins, Babatunde,49, also expressed gratitude to God for the children.
"We fast, pray and cry unto God for the fruits of the womb for years, but I am happy that today, God has finally fulfilled his promise to my family. I thank members of our church under the callings of Pastor and Mrs David Ajileye for their prayers and care for my family,’’ the happy father, who is also a civil servant, said.
Ajileye, who is the General Overseer of the Way of Life Bible Church, Ado-Ekiti, thanked God for his blessings in the lives of the couple.
“We have known the couple for over 15 years and they have been steadfast and faithful in serving God inspite of the challenges they were facing. For years, I and my wife have been praying to God to give the couple the fruit of the womb; I am so happy that the lord has answered their prayers. The church witnessed a similar miracle in 2013 when a couple, members of our church delivered a set of twins, a boy and a girl after 31 years of childlessness,’’ he said.
He advised the couple to teach and train the children in the ways of the lord. NAN reports that the mother and the twins were in good health as at press time.

11 year old pregnant from rape wants child, sparking abortion debate

This is not the child
An 11-year old girl with intellectual and learning disabilities who was raped and became pregnant has indicated that she wants to keep the child.

The unnamed Uruguayan girl is currently 16 weeks pregnant and, according to doctors and sources close to her family, she dreams of raising the baby with her attacker.

The girl was allegedly raped by the 41-year-old grandfather of her half-sister, who was visiting the family in its Montevideo home. He has been detained and will be prosecuted for rape, Uruguayan officials told Agence France-Presse.

In Uruguay, abortion is legal up to 12 weeks of gestation and 14 weeks in the case of rape, but medical reports indicate that the girl does not have the capacity to understand the consequences of pregnancy and motherhood.

"Although the legal deadline for abortion has been exceeded, if we determine that the pregnancy endangers her health, judicial authorization could be granted," Marisa Lindner, director of Uruguay's Child and Adolescent Institute (INAU), told a press conference.

The hospital has said the girl is in good health and under medical supervision, and Monica Silva, director of INAU's health division, told La Diaria newspaper that "there is no risk of life for the girl or baby, so we cannot make her have an abortion."

The Uruguayan case comes soon after a similar incident in neighboring Paraguay, in which a 10-year-old was raped and impregnated by her stepfather. Paraguay’s health minister blocked the girl from getting an abortion because the country’s constitution forbids the procedure unless the mother's life is in danger.

JONATHAN TO HIS MINISTERS AND AIDES: 'We Will All Have Hard Times, Our Ways Will Be Rough

The outgoing President, Goodluck Jonathan has told his Ministers and Aides to get ready for hard times after handing over on the May 29, 2015.

Jonathan made the declaration yesterday, May 10, during the thanksgiving service organized in his honour, at the Church of Advent, Anglican Church, Life Camp, Abuja.
He said he believes he lost some of his political allies because of “certain decisions,” he took as regards the just concluded election.
He said: “It (the decisions) might be good for the generality of the people but it might affect some people differently, So for ministers and aides who served with me, I sympathize with them, they will be persecuted. And they must be ready for that persecution.”
“To my ministers, I wish you what I wish myself, They will have hard times, we will all have hard times. Our ways will be rough”.
“Some hard decisions have their own cost, no doubt about that, That I have ran the government this way that stabilized certain things, the electoral process and other things that brought stability into this country. They were very costly decisions which I myself must be ready to pay for.
“Some people come to me and say this or that person, is he not your friend that benefited. Is it not your government that this person benefited from? But this is what the person is saying?
“But I used to say worse statements will come. If you take certain decisions, you should know that those close to you will even abandon you at some point. And I tell them that more of my so-called friends will disappear.”
According to Vanguard, Jonathan said his decision to concede defeat did not go down well with some of his ministers and associates, he  noted that the most important thing is that “the ordinary people appreciate what we did.”

Yesterday, while meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) committee set up to assess the party’s loss in the recently concluded elections, Jonathan said he was going to direct all his efforts to return the PDP to its winning ways by 2019.

South African Man Raped at Gunpoint by 3 Women

boy covering face
A 33-year-old South African man was raped at gunpoint by three women, who subsequently collected his semen, stored it in a cooler and fled with it. Afterwards, they abandoned their victim.
The man gave the women directions when they pulled up in a black BMW. Suddenly, one of the women armed with a gun got out and forced him into the back of the car at gunpoint.
The trio then drove him 500km away and fondled him in the back of the car but he did not become aroused, so they forced him to drink an ‘unknown substance’ from a bottle to aid him.
They then raped the man repeatedly and collected his semen in plastic bags, placing them in a cooler box.
The man was then kicked out of the car, 500 km away from where they picked him up in the Kwazakhele township, Port Elizabeth, and made off with the stolen sperm.
The exact same method is being used by women in Gauteng, who are also forcing men to drink from a bottle and stealing their semen but no arrests have been made.
