3 Things About Oshomole's New Wife

Governor Oshomole of Edo state is getting married today to Lara Fortes after his first wife died in the  hands of cancer in December 2010 at the age of 54.
3 Things You Didn't Know About Gov. Oshiomole's Bride
Lara Fortes is Adams Oshiomhole’s new love after his first wife Clara died of cancer aged 54.
However, the internet went abuzz few hours ago when it was learnt that, the former labour leader turned politician was about getting married to a beautiful damsel.
The governor in 2013, while celebrating his fifth year in office as the governor, had enumerated reasons why he is not considering re-marrying after the death of his wife.
“Any woman who agrees to marry a man who is not rich, a man who alternates between police stations and cells and lives in a one or two bedroom apartment that is your real love. When my wife [Clara] said I love you, it was from her heart,” Oshiomhole said.
Well, it turns out the 63-year-old governor has met his heartthrob who has overthrown his decision of not re-marrying. He is set to re-marry on Friday, May 15, 2015, five years after the death of his first wife, Clara.
Here are some few things you did not know about governor Oshiomhole’s beautiful damsel.

1. The name of the damsel is Lara Fortes, an Ethiopian who is in her 30s.
2. Miss Fortes is a former model and air hostess.
3. She was the governor’s casual friend before marriage talks came into the picture. This is because she was once spotted with the governor at the 50th birthday party of Grace Ihonvbere, wife of the secretary to the state government, Julius Ihonvbere, on March 21, in Abuja.
The wedding is slated for 10.am at the Etsako West Local Government Council Marriage Registry in the Auchi area of the state, while the reception will take place at the governor’s country home in Iyamho.

Amaechi Launches Dynamics Of Change

The Governor of Rivers State has made a public presentation of his book titled 'Dynamic Of Change: The Amaechi Years', yesterday, may 14, 2015.

Tinubu Speaks At Presentation Of A Book About Amaechi
The book was written about Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers state.
It was chaired by Hon. Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte with eminent guests, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah as the book reviewer amongst others.
Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka wrote the forward in the book. Prof. Soyinka, a long time friend of Ameachi took time off his seemingly tight schedule to write a very thought provoking and incisive forward which becomes an affirmation of what this book stands for, a veritable testimony to its import in the evolving political history of Nigeria.
Tinubu while speaking has defined Amaechi as a ‘General’ of the Common Sense Revolution Army.
APC national leader said that Rivers state governor was leaving behind a permanent legacy in state after eight years of meritable service to the people.
Find out Tinubu’s full speech below:
In the course of the historic campaigns for the 2015 presidential election I was emphatic that the election itself was a great opportunity to popularise and test the noble idea of a Common Sense Revolution in Nigeria. Soon enough we found in the resonance of the APC Change mantra with the electorate a confirmation that Nigeria needed a Common Sense Revolution that is non-violent.
Indeed there is a publication with that title authored by me in which I argued that Nigeria was ripe for a change of leadership and Nigerians must act in a Common Sense and rational way in choosing their leaders. The results of the March presidential elections and that of April have demonstrated clearly the desire by Nigerians for change.
Elections over, both the leaders and citizens must brace up to meet the challenges required to built a better, more prosperous nation. Indeed, even as we subscribe to the tenets of Common Sense Revolution, we must retool ourselves the new leadership must embark on policies that will improve the general well being of the mass of our people.
Permit me to recall here how I once attempted to encapsulate the idea of Common Sense Revolution: “… This revolution is not a violent one to tear things down it is a revolution to rescue us from violence, injustice and poverty.
It is a positive one to rescue, repair and restructure the nation and its institutions in ways that further collective prosperity and well-being. The only violence that is to be done is to violence, injustice and poverty themselves. At its essence, a common sense revolution is a call to return to a level of decency in the relationship between government and the governed, between each one of us and his neighbor…” That was at commissioning of people-centred projects on March 23, 2015 in Kano under the leadership of Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
We are here today, because one of the ‘Generals’ in the Common Sense Revolution Army, Rotimi Amaechi is bold and willing to show the world what he has achieved in the task to chart the critical path to total political and economic emancipation of the people whose mandate he enjoyed for 8 years.
In my view, our gathering to celebrate the landmark achievements of my brother, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, in Rivers State in the last eight years is also another justifiable celebration of idea of Common Sense Revolution for development. The publication of the book, Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years is a timely service to history. This occasion is all the more remarkable because of the huge challenges Amaechi has been facing especially in his second term from an extremely hostile federal government. His role as the chairman of the Governors’ Forum invariably brought him into a bitter collision with President Goodluck Jonathan.
Governor Amaechi and most of the governors want a properly defined federalist relationship with the government at the centre. The President would have none of that as in the notable example of the management of the federation account. This is, therefore, another great opportunity to salute Amaechi’s rare courage of conviction and sense of purpose. The APC has every cause to be proud of him.
You can, therefore, imagine how much gratified I feel at the immense intellectual efforts invested in the publication of Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years. I salute the editors and authors of essays in the book. It is thoughtful of them to document the legacy of Amaechi in Rivers state. The high quality schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, security and human capacity projects, among others, richly documented in the book are a testimony that social democratic ideas can indeed be implemented in this clime.
It is our hope that the legacy of governance for genuine development that Amaechi is leaving behind in Rivers would inspire state governments to make the welfare and security of the people the focus of governance. It is important to empahasise that security here includes social security if the war against poverty must be won.
The APC change agenda is anchored on the three Rs- Reform, Relief, Relief, and Recovery. It is the Tripod upon which Nigeria must operate in order to unleash her potentials.
Rotimi will go on from here to continue to serve Nigeria in key positions. He will not be alone. He will share the company of many change agents and professionals who have cast their lots with the new political order under the Leadership President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Once more, I congratulate Governor Amaechi as he leaves behind this proud legacy in Rivers State.

Rotimi Amaechi is the 15th and incumbent governor of Rivers state since 2007. He was re-elected for a second term on 26 April 2011.
There were speculations that Amaechi, who also was the Director General of Buhari Campaign Organisation, from the South South geo-political zone will head the incoming APC government’s cabinet as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Obasanjo's Think-tank Submits Recommendation To Buhari

Obasanjo's think-tank group has submitted its recommendations on critical areas to the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

Ex-president through his think-tank group, examined critical areas of the economy and submitted a review to Buhari.
The group which was launched four months ago under the Centre for Human Security of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library examined five key areas of education, power, the economy, security and infrastructure.
Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari’s Director of Media and Publicity, told reporters that Kalu Idika Kalu, Vice Chairman of the Committee and former Minister of finance, presented volumes of the report of the committee to the president-elect during a short ceremony held behind closed doors.
Shehu also stated that ex Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria, Dr. Christopher Kolade who was head of the power committee, gave different stages of the planned power sector development plan to comprise, short term, medium term, long term solutions.
He said: “The whole idea was that Obasanjo set up his own think- tank with the aim of carrying out a study on challenges facing the country in five key areas of Education, Power sector, Economy, Security and Infrastructure. The study was commissioned four months ago so that the outcome will be made available to the incoming administration after the election.
The head of media team noted that Buhari as respecting former president and his team for their attempt, defining their intercession as a great drift for the incoming administration.
Shehu said that the out-going administration that is supposed to give Buhari notes on how to take-off has done nothing so far and thanked Obasanjo and his team for their motion, assuring them that his incoming government will be needing their advice as time goes on.
Chairman of the Obasanjo’s committee, Prof. Akin Mabogunje, told reporters after the meeting that the group had been working on a number of critical issues for the development of Nigeria.
He said a delegation of the committee members, who took part in the organisation of the policy documents, was sent to present the reviews to Buhari.
Kalu said: “We have looked at education, security, economy, power and infrastructure. Those are the areas we have made recommendations and which we hope the new administration will be able to work on.”

It should be mentioned that Obasanjo played a great role on Buhari’s way to the presidential seat.
There were reports that former president endorsed Buhari, but lately Obasanjo denied this information.
