READ a true life story of a runs girl
Editor’s note
I believe that this true life story of an undergraduate student will open the eyes of other undergraduates, seen by the society as a generation of sex freak, to refrain from sexual escapades and concentrate on their studies, which is a window for wealth, social security and marital bliss.

LIVING THE HIGH, PROMISCUOUS LIFE IS A TEMPORARY PLEASURE THAT CAN ONLY LEAD TO MISERY,
IT HAPPENED TO ME !
I am one of those lucky ones who got admission into the university straight out of school. It was a whole new kind of experience for me; no school uniform, no restriction of movement, no punishment. There was freedom, the hostel and lots of friends. I was only 17 at the time and a very serious student who never missed lectures. I wanted to graduate well and work for an oil company. I studied hard and got excellent in most of my courses but so with my three room mates who never attended lectures and partied all the time. I felt cheated and decided if I cannot beat them, I would join them. I wanted to be popular too, have social connections and wear nice clothes. Pat, Lisa, Idara and I soon became the best of friends and made a complete team.
We were wined and dined with top-shot leaders, politicians and celebrities who treated us like queens, even though they knew were actually nothing but glorified prostitutes. Friends tried to call me to order but I would not listen. Soon, I was so obsessed with my new life that I did not have time for lectures. Instead we will pay a poor, but brilliant boy in the class who helped us out in the exams hall.
Every thing went well until when Idara fell ill, she stayed at home for an entire semester and got even worse. One day her parents told us that she had died of full-blown aids, and advised us all to go and test for the virus. “God forbid“ we said; “it is not our portion”.
We told our friends in school that Idara family had won a lottery and moved to America. We were filling with fear and lay low for a while. But once we had gotten off Idara’s absence, Pat got us on line.
I soon met Tajudeen, a married man who worked for an oil company and asked me to be his mistress. He promised to get me a job in his company after I graduated and pampered me a lot. Sticking to him helped me away from the group, which eventually fell apart; Pat was expelled after being caught cheating in exams. Even the Head of Department she was dating could not help her. Lisa became a born again Christian, probably because she could not cope without the group.
I was impregnated by Tajudeen three times and had an abortion on each occasion. The forth time I got pregnant, I had an abortion again but discovered that I was still pregnant two weeks later. I went back to the “doctor”, but when I had a scan done, I discovered that my baby was still alive in me and stock in my fallopian tube.
I knew girls who had 10 abortions but had never suffered these complications. Why did this happen to me? At the hospital, I was told it would cost N100, 000.00 for the surgery i needed and, since I did not have that kind of money, i turned to Tajudeen for help. He rejected me like dirt, calling me a prostitute, a thief and a slut. Desperate I resorted to threatening him. He eventually paid N200,000.00 into my bank account and said he never wanted to see me again.
I had the operation. My fallopian tube had to be cut out, and I will never forget the pains I went through as well as the loneliness, rejection, regret and disappointment.
Regrettably, my education and suffering in life have come to nothing. Now I have lost my fallopian tube and consequently the joy of motherhood and marital bliss to a worthless man because of my greed.

PANIC HITS ONDO AS MYSTERIOUS AILMENT STRIKE, 27 DIED

Panic has hit Ondo state where, based on the recent update, 27 people died from a mysterious unidentified ailment.
Channels TV reports that all the deaths have been recorded in Irele LGA of the state.
Dr Dayo Adeyanju, Ondo health commissioner, said that the disease is strange and it’s symptoms include headache and loss of sight.
He noted that was definitely not Ebola, assured the residents that the local and international health institutions were already investigating the causes of the ailment and considering the effective ways of treatment.
In an attempt to allay the residents’ fears Adeyanju said that the situation was under control.
UPDATE
Sahara Reporters provides that two more people have just died in the area following the disease spread. According to the article, the total number of deaths recorded in three days corresponds 27.
Ayodele Omole, a community leader, told the press that the first case was registered in the morning of April 15, 2015, Wednesday. It caused panic among residents, as many people were fleeing from the area.
Omole said that many residents had blamed it on an “evil spiritual attack”:
“Unlike yesterday, people are now scared of carrying the bodies because of fear of infections. Some residents have fled the community for Ore town while others are planning to leave for Akure for total safety.”
The local added that apart from causing blindness, the virus also made victims’ tongues to swell abnormally that prevented them from speaking. The victims were dying in a few hours after showing the first symptoms.
According to Omole, many in the community did not believe in the ability of the state health authorities to overcome “a spiritual cause”. The locals were relying on some traditional healers, hoping they would help.
An unnamed resident of the town said the gods in the community were angry because “some section of the shrine was recently destroyed and some sacred objects stolen by unknown people.” The young man added that some worshipers of the deity and traditional priests were meeting to discover those behind the theft.
In a similar development, last year a strange disease claimed lives of five students in Kebbi state.
One of the students of Kanta Unity College, who pleaded for anonymity, narrated:
“We believe that the death of our colleagues is an attack by evil spirits. We were cleaning our school environment recently when we heard a strange voice in the fire we set to rubbish, telling us to be ready to face the music for what the strange voice called ‘intruding into their vicinity’.”

BORORO -FULANI CLASH IN KWARA

At least two persons were killed and property worth millions of naira destroyed when Bororo-Fulani traders clashed with Yoruba natives of Oro-Ago in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Sun news reports.

Fulani herdsmen in Kwara
Investigations which were conducted in the area revealed that the problem might have started when Fulani-Bororo settlers disobeyed an already laid-down rule that the settlers should not bring arms and ammunition or fighting sticks from their settlements on Oro Ago market days.
The Fulani traders entered the market with arms on Monday but the vigilance team and hunters collected their weapons and kept them in Oro Ago town.
The seized weapons were allegedly later carted away by the leader of the Fulani community in the area, popularly called Serikin Fulani, and handed back to his people to the surprise of the local vigilance team.
In the aftermath of that, there was a breakdown of law and order as the two groups clashed when the vigilantes tried to retrieve the weapons. This resulted in four people sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
One of the youths of the area, Sogo Babarinde, who repaired phones in the market, was reportedly killed by the Fulani.
Another version of the report according to the Sun claimed that youths in the area also killed one of the Fulani people, before they were chased away from the community.
At least about 10 motorcycles and five vehicles belonging to some members of the Fulani community were reportedly burnt by irate youths.
Meanwhile, security operatives including military and policemen, as well as the local vigilance team have been keeping vigil in the area to restore normalcy and prevent a reprisal attack, as people in the area were living in palpable fear.
Ajayi Okasanmi, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) has already said that only two persons were killed and not seven as being speculated, adding that men and officers of the command had been able to restore normalcy in the area after the clash.
He also said the local government authorities had constituted a committee, comprising the natives and the Fulani residents to resolve the matter, and prevent a reoccurrence.
This is the second report of clashes between Fulani and Yorubas in Kwara in the past two weeks. The earlier attacks occured Eruku community of Kwara State. The clash claimed the lives of at least seven people.

After the earlier clash, royal fathers had to call a meeting with Fulani leaders and the police in Kwara state so as to avoid further occurrences.

April 25, for IMO Re-Run - INEC

As a result of the alleged electoral irregularities reportedly experienced in the Imo State governorship and state house of assembly elections of last Saturday, April 11, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed a new date for the re-run elections in the state.
INEC Fixes April 25 For Re-Run Election In Imo State
INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega
This was made known to NAN on Wednesday in Owerri by the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Gabriel Ada.
Ada said the electoral umpire had fixed April 25 for re-run of the 2015 Governorship and some constituencies in the state House of Assembly elections.
It would be recalled that INEC had declared the April 11 governorship polls in Imo inconclusive, a development that led to the cancellation of elections in more than 250 polling units in 23 of the 27 local government areas.
The REC listed the state constituencies affected in the re-run to include; Ikeduru, Isiala Mbano, Isu, Oguta, Owerri West, and Oru East.
He explained that the electoral commission ordered re-run for the governorship election because of the 79,000 difference between the votes scored by the leading and the second candidates.
“The registered voters in the affected polling units are more than 145,000 and when you consider this figure with the difference, you discover that it was quite substantial number of voters,” he said.
Ada, who gave a breakdown of the state assembly results where the exercise had been concluded, declared that APC won 16 seats, PDP five and six were inconclusive.
The REC revealed that some ad-hoc workers were being investigated for their roles in the manipulation of results during March 28 and April 11, 2015 elections.
“We have several cases of figures being subverted from polling units to ward and down to the local government areas. INEC is investigating all these matters and those found culpable will be prosecuted,” he said.
Ada assured that INEC would continue to do its best to make sure the elections remained free, fair and credible and urged voters to respect the rules.

Meanwhile, the country’s main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) had in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammad, hinted that the party is patiently waiting to see the outcome of the happenings in Imo State after INEC declared the April 11 governorship polls in the state inconclusive.

According to The Trent, Senator Emmanuel Paulker and other chieftains of the party in the state are also being investigated for engaging in anti-party activities.
The party has reportedly queried some top party chiefs for openly supporting candidates of APGA, Labour Party and APC during the House of Assembly elections.
One instance which was highlighted by the party was the use of thugs by Senator Paulker and his wife to beat up a PDP agent for daring to challenge him when the senator was fronting for his preferred APGA candidate.
This is not the first time the PDP will be handling issues of divided loyalty among its members.
Before the presidential election, a group loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan warned him to be conscious of some of his Ministers and aides, alleging that they were actually working for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

OSHIOMHOLE SUSPENDS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN

Chairman of Owan West Local Government Area in Edo State, Mr. Godwin Agbodion, has been suspended following allegations of financial mismanagement and other administrative irregularities.
This was revealed by the State Governor, Adams oshiomhole, who announced Agbodion suspension while addressing members of the Local Government Executive Council and Councilors Thursday at the Government House, Benin City, Vanguard reports.
The Governor said, “We have tried in the past to call the Chairman to have a good working relationship with his Executives. We have decided to set up a committee of enquiry to investigate these allegations, both financial and non-financial and in the provisions of the appropriate legislations of the Local Government law, I have decided to exercise the powers vested in me to suspend the Chairman during this period for the committee to investigate all the allegations and submit the report to me.
“So with immediate effect, the Chairman is suspended and a Committee of enquiry is set up. In line with the rules, the Vice Chairman will act as the Chairman of the Local Government. I direct the suspended chairman to stay away from the premises of the Local Government. When the Committee is ready to sit, the Committee will invite you and you will have ample opportunity to defend yourself against all the allegations.
“For now, we all have an issue in hand subject to the findings of the committee. So I have called you here as Chairman, Vice Chairman and some of the Councilors, I advise you to desist from doing things that will lead to violence or in any way lead to destruction. If anybody does anything that leads to rioting or protests or anything that will disrupt the peace of the community, the person will be exposing himself because the full weight of the law will be brought to bear”.
Oshiomhole continued, “We have a collective responsibility to ensure that there is peace and security. We have followed the provisions of the law which provides for the suspension of the Chairman in the face of allegations such as this. We expect the committee will work very quickly and will give us a report based on which a final decision will be taken. I want to appeal to you Councilors whether elected or appointed to maintain the peace.
“However anybody who chooses to take laws into his hands will face the consequence of the law because we will not allow anyone to do anything that will undermine the security of the people of Owan West or indeed any part of Edo state”.
The Governor said, “While the Chairman is on suspension the Vice Chairman will reserve all the powers and privileges of the Chairman”.
On his appointment as acting chairman, Oshimhole told Hon. Reginald Okuns “Your brief is straightforward, it is to provide leadership and perform those functions that the Chairman usually performs and you must avoid his own mistakes, you must ensure that you do not in any way do anything that will bother on financial mismanagement. You must follow due procedure in award of contract or in any business that you want to do.
“If you are in doubt, please seek clarification from either the Ministry of Local Government or from the Attorney-General or even directly from my office. This is not something to celebrate or not to celebrate. It is a huge responsibility that you now have to provide leadership for the Local Government while this enquiry is on.
“I don’t want to hear people are boasting, people are boasting or people are saying it is my turn. This is just a duty to perform and when the Chairman is not available, the Vice Chairman takes over so go and provide the needed leadership and I have no doubt that you are capable to do this and I wish you the best of luck”.
The Vice Chairman, Owan West Local Government Area, Hon. Reginald Okuns will act as the Acting Chairman pending the outcome of the investigation by the Committee of Enquiry.
Meanwhile, the governor has set up a 4-Man Commission of Enquiry to investigate the allegations leveled at the Chairman.
Inaugurating the Commission in his office, Governor Oshiomhole said, “We decided to set up this committee on the provisions of Section 20, sub-section 11 of the Local Government Law as amended 2006.
“We have had series of allegations bordering on administrative incompetence, poor governance, diversion of public funds, non-payment of salaries and breach of procurement procedures against the Chairman of Owan West Local Government and these allegations have persisted in spite of my numerous attempt to advise him to review his approach to governance and ensure that he obeys all the rules and regulations and subject himself to the dictates of the law and the norms of governance.
“It is clear from the gale of petitions and complaints that these allegations have not abated and I am convinced that they are sufficiently serious enough to warrant a formal enquiry. I am not in a position to form an opinion on the basis of these allegations. In our law, everyone is deemed innocent until he is found guilty.
“In line with the provision of the Local Government Law, Section 20, in exercise of the power vested in me, I have decided to constitute an administrative commission of enquiry to investigate these and other allegations. This is not a judicial allegation and we are not investigating criminal allegation, basically it is an administration committee of enquiry and we have decided to look for seasoned and well experienced administrators”.
“This suspension under the law is expected to last for a period of two months. You are therefore expected to do everything to turn in your report on time so that the issues can be determined one way or the other within the time provided for in the enabling legislation. Chief Tom Uloko is Chairman of the Chairman while Barrister Mrs. Osagajah serve as Secretary. Other members are Maj-Gen Charles Omoregie (rtd), Barrister Tunji Aroya”, he said.
The incumbent governor of Edo state is still basking in the euphoria of APC’s victory at the polls in the House of Assembly election as he was seen on Monday leading thousands of APC faithful on a 10km road show round major streets of Benin City to celebrate his party’s victory in the House of Assembly elections held on Saturday, April 11.

Fuel Scarcity Hits Abuja

Motorists and commuters in Abuja and its environs are experiencing severe fuel scarcity just few days after the governorship and state Houses of Assembly election.
According to Leadership, most filing stations in Abuja have shut their gates to the public, claiming to be out of the product.
The few which are opened for business reportedly seize the opportunity to extort money from motorists, charging N500 as gate fee before allowing people access into the station while they pay another N500 or N1,000, depending on the size of their car tanks, to have their tanks filled up.
The situation which has been described as an artificial scarcity  has been worsened by the recent threats by the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG) to go on strike.
NUPENG has threatened to withdraw its services across the country if the current NASS fails to pass the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) into law.

Petroleum Industry Bill which has caused so much controversy in the oil sector was first was first introduced to the National Assembly in 2009.
Since then it has suffered a number of setbacks. The delays have been on account of diverse interests scrutinising its provisions. Amongst these are the interests of legislators from the country’s North pitted against those of their Southern counterpart.

Relocation-Rivers Election Tribunal

The Rivers state election petition tribunal will relocate to Abuja, the state capital, by President of the Court of Appeal Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.
The relocation is due to security reasons.
Deborah Musa, the secretary of the tribunal, in a statement yesterday, April 15, in Abuja, said Justice Ishaq Bello, the acting Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, accepted the FCT High Court, Apo, as the secretariat and trial court for the tribunal.
The National and State Election Tribunal has begun sitting in Makurdi in the case challenging the poll of Senate President David Mark, who was announced winner of the Benue South Senatorial District for a fifth term, the Tribunal has decided the leave for his opponent Comrade Daniel Onjeh to examine and get the materials used during the March 28 elections.

Wike’s poll and those of federal and state lawmakers are to be challenged by the APC.

However with INEC set to decide the fates of the two leading candidate vying for the governorship role on April 25, Mr. Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC), all is now set for a winner to emerge.
While the electorates have continued to show interest in Taraba state elections with the possibility of Nigeria having its first elected female governor stirring upon our faces, the APC governorship aspirant of Taraba state, Senator Jummai Alhassan, is extremely grateful to the people on social media for supporting her campaign.
Alhassan is seeking to be the first female governor of Taraba state, however, she has to wait a little longer, as the election of Saturday, April 11, was declared inconclusive by INEC.
The senator for the Taraba North constituency of Taraba state took to her Twitter page (@JummaiAAlhassan) to express her emotions due to the love and support she has been getting from the online platforms.
Senator Jummai Alhassan who joined twitter on February 26, now has all to fight for with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixing the run off of the Taraba governorship elections for April 25.

What We Want From Buhari - APC Youth

The All Progressives Congress Youth Forum has told the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, what they want from him.
The youth forum has asked Buhari to address the problem of unemployment and youth restiveness in the country, National Mirror reports.
The chairman of the group, Ismaeel Ahmed, who addressed a press conference yesterday in Abuja, urged the president-elect to include the youths in his new administration.
While congratulating him on his victory at the polls, Ahmed pointed out that the youths who stood for change should be remembered and honoured.
He said: “Young Nigerians, the foot soldiers of the respective campaigns of which many lost their lives, went from door-to-door to spread and preach the benefits of our party roadmaps, and today, we must remember and honour them. Today, we must begin to look at the sustainability of our party and begin to empower young people for the sake of the future that knocks ever so steadily on our door.”
The youth forum also called on Nigerians to hold leaders accountable for their actions, while urging young people to exercise patience with the new administration to reap the dividends of change.
Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC, won the March 28 election. Since his victory, he has been getting advice, warnings and support from concerned citizens.
The former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has advised him to realize that Nigerians are expecting a lot from him when he finally takes over power on May 29.
An opposition party, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has publicly pledged to support the president-elect.
The World Bank has tasked Buhari to tackle corruption if he wants his administration to be a success.

BAYELSA GUBER 2016-Alamieyeseigha, Timipre Sylva stuggle for APC Guber Ticket

Success indeed comes with many friends and followers, hence, the recent victory recorded by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded March 28 and April 11, 2015 general elections had attracted two former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in Bayelsa State to contest on the platform of the APC come 2016 gubernatorial poll.
Nigerian Watch on Wednesday reported that Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and Timipre Sylva are among several candidates preparing to participate in the state’s governorship election scheduled for February, 2016.

Meanwhile, Bayelsa is one of Nigeria’s seven states with its own electoral calendar due to past cancellations of polls and it did not elect a governor last weekend.
It was gathered that with the general elections concluded the two major parties in the country; PDP and the APC have started looking towards next year’s polls in the state.
Other candidates interested in running for the state’s number seat include Timi Alaibe, a former managing director, Niger Delta Development Commission and the former Bayelsa State commissioner for health Frank Akpoebi.
Also in the race are said to comprise the permanent secretary in the ministry of power, Godknow Igali, and APC state chairman Tiwe Oruminighe.

It was also learnt that the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, is the one that advised Preye Aganaba, who recently lost his senatorial bid to go for the party’s governorship ticket.
Alameseigha, who was impeached and jailed for corruption is said to be considering seeking the APC ticket.
One Bayelsa State source said: “Alamieseigha is eyeing the governorship seat and his plan is to make a grand return to the seat of power in 2016. To this end, he has been holding a series of meetings with some APC stalwarts. He is assuring the APC leadership that with him as governor, the militants will feel comfortable. He is saying that the incumbent governor is not liked by ex-militants, citing the clash between the governor and ex-militants over pipeline contracts.”
However, there has been apprehension that the Niger Delta militants may take up arms again and return to the creeks following President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat at the just concluded March 28, 2015, presidential election, therefore, Alameseigha is optimistic that his influence with the warlords, will guarantee his victory by claiming that he is the only one who can keep the peace in the region.
President Jonathan, who was a deputy governor to Alameseigha, took over his job as governor after the later was impeached. President Jonathan subsequently granted him a pardon on assuming the presidency. He was considered a close ally of Mr. President.

Alameseigha was expected to contest for senate in the last general elections on the platform of the PDP, but it appears that he has decided to dump the PDP following its defeat in the just concluded elections which has made it lose popularity. He intends to challenge incumbent governor Seriake Dickson on the platform of the APC.

APC May Propose Zoning For Political Appointment

As part of efforts to curb internal feud between chieftains of the All Progressive Congress (APC) regarding the distribution of political offices, the party has allegedly adopted a new formula.
APC Adopts New Formula To Give Elective Offices
APC National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed

THISDAY reports that the party might adopt zoning formula in dishing out political appointments as it take steps towards arriving at modalities for the distribution of political offices, including formation of the cabinet for the incoming government.
The party in a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammad, said the leaders have brainstormed on the issues on ground.
“We are meeting to review the governorship elections, and the elections behind us. We have to prepare for the business of the governance such as preparing the ground for transition committee,” he said.
The national secretary while speaking on the issue of political appointments and the zoning formula tagged it a mere speculation, saying: “I think you have been listening to a lot of gossip, nothing like that was ever discussed. All we discussed was to make recommendations to the transition committee, where the government should hit the ground running, what should be immediate, mid-term and long term of government. So, all these issues of minister of and MDAs are your own imagination.
“This government is not going to be like before, we discussed serious issues and honestly I am telling you what we discussed since morning has been what should be the priority of government. Power sharing was not discussed. I don’t know who gave you information but that was not discussed and we are going to resume the discussion tomorrow. We have discussed that also which will interface with the government. I don’t even know myself, because we only made recommendations to the president-elect.”
But, a party source, who did not want his name in print revealed that the meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) was also meant to suggest workable zoning formula for the incoming administration.
According to him, the recommendations of the NWC would be forwarded to the top leadership and the APC governors’ forum for their input before finally being presented to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for endorsement.
It was also gathered that the NWC meeting is to continue today (Thursday) as it could not conclude deliberation on the issues on Wednesday, hence , decided to set up committees to help in making appropriate recommendations.
In a related development, the APC national secretary also revealed that the party was not satisfied with happened in Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Taraba States, adding that the party is patiently waiting to see the outcome of the happenings in Imo State as well.
Mohammed said the APC candidate in Taraba State will today (Thursday) address the press on what happened in her state.

The elections in Taraba, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states were marred by several complaints from political parties chieftains. Kashamu Writes Tinubu

The senator-elect and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state, Chief Buruji Kashamu, has described the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, as his role model.
Tinubu Is My Role Model - Kashamu
Prince Buruji Kashamu
The chairman of the Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the PDP in the southwest in an open letter eulogises the former Lagos state governor in a very unexpected way. Kashamu, one of the fiercest opponents of the APC before the 2015 elections, has described Tinubu as a true hero to be emulated by every Nigerian.
Kashamu said that it was important to honour those deserving of honour now that elections are over. In the open letter addressed to Tinubu, Kashamu said, “Truth be told, men like you are made up of sterner stuff and are rare to come by in every generation. Little wonder you are called the Asiwaju and Jagaban of Borgu. I doff my hat. I hope that in spite of our membership of different political platforms, we would be able to collaborate for the upliftment of Yorubaland in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
“My sincere prayer is for the Almighty Allah to keep you and give you good health and long life to be able to see the Nigeria of your dream. For me, I join other Nigerians in wishing you the best, even as we aspire and pray Almighty Allah to make us – the younger ones – be like you, the Jagaban of Borgu.”
Kashamu described Tinubu as the architect of modern Nigeria, who, he said, made history by leading an opposition party for 16 years and then taking power at the centre. He noted that without Tinubu, the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, would not have won the March 28 election.
He said, “Although I now belong to the opposition, your achievements transcend political divides and I am not ashamed to publicly acknowledge them. There is no denying the fact that your place in the history of the Yoruba race in particular, and, in Nigeria in general, is well etched. The fanatical support that the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, enjoys in his homestead was matched with your commanding influence in the politics of the South-West and indeed the Yoruba race to produce the results we witnessed during the elections.
“By your sheer wit and unwavering commitment to democratic ethos, true federalism and economic prosperity, you led the Alliance for Democracy from a one-state party to a regional party and now a national party that is about to form the government at the centre.”

Buruji, who sued the former president Olusegun Obasanjo last December over a controversial book authored by the ex-president, also congratulated Obasanjo and the Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun. He promised Amosun that he would ensure that the nine PDP senators in the Ogun state House of Assembly will give him maximum cooperation
