Fuel Scarcity Left Nigerians Frustrated In Petrol Station

As fuel scarcity across the nation continues, many businesses and enterprises are threaten to shut down.
The queues at petrol station have been a menace to the society as traffic is left to play a pivotal role in the citizens’ everyday life.
To this regard, many are left frustrated at petrol stations after hours of patiently waiting to get fuel.
However with reports of a glimpse of hope last night following a statement by Ifeanyi Ubah, managing director of capital oil and gas industries limited, promising to ease the suffering of Nigerians by releasing about 13 million litres, Nigerians have taken to social media to add their voices to the devastating controversy.
As many businesses and enterprises threaten to shut down as a result of the ravaging fuel scarcity, some Nigerians have resorted to making tribalism prevail in this challenge and embracing the blame game.
With Mr Ifeanyi Ubah , promising to make available 13 million litres to ease Nigerians’ stress, some have called for Oil King, “Oil King”, Wale Tinubu (Group Chief Executive of Oando PLC) and Femi Otedola, (Chairman of Forte Oil Plc) to do so.

Why Jonathan Lost The Presidential Election - PDP Chair

Captain Olatunji Shelle, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Lagos State Chapter has explained why President Jonathan lost the presidential elections in the state and other parts of the country.

Speaking during an interview with our correspondent on the claims that Jonathan lost because he failed to do certain things, Shelle said he had expected the president to have raised some objections when the issue of underage voting in certain parts of the country cropped up.

Sacked PDP Chairman, Tunji Shelle
I also expected him to raise issues when he saw a sort of romance between the INEC chairman, Jega and the APC. INEC is supposed to be independent but that doesn’t imply they cannot be cautioned if they are going astray. I think Mr. President didn’t do all these because he is a complete gentleman.
“I also believed that some authorities who are supposed to be in charge of security worked against Mr. President too. These are some of the facts that many people are not ready to reel out because they want a united country,” he said.
Speaking on how he felt when it was announced that PDP lost the presidential election, he said: “Naturally, I will feel bad as the chairman of the party in Lagos because we worked very hard. We pointed out two areas that could militate against us like the distribution of PVC’s which was skewed in favour of one region against another and card readers which didn’t function maximally during the presidential election, and yet they counted the votes.
“These are some of the irregularities that affected the chances of Mr. President and our candidates in the National Assembly election. In Lagos in particular, a lot of rigging took place and that is why we approached the tribunal for redress,” he alleged.

Jonathan had lost the March 28 president election to Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress. He has been named a hero in some quarters for conceding defeat, thereby averting the crisis that would have erupted in the nation.
Meanwhile, since the PDP’s loss at the polls, the party has been embroiled in crisis both at the state and federal level.
The executive Committee of the PDP had sacked Shelle for misusing election campaign funds.
At the national level, some top members of the party are calling for the removal of the party’s national chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, for failing to lead the party to victory. Mu’azu finally resigned last week.

Why GTB May Join List Of Fuel Scarcity CasualtiesIn a press statement released Sunday evening, the management of the bank stated that from Monday, May 25, all branches of the company will start closing by 1pm as they have found it difficult to get diesel to power their plants across the country.

Due to this, we unavoidably have to close our branches nationwide at 1pm from tomorrow (Monday)
“Whilst we have had to take this step to close branch operations early, we would like to seek your understanding at this time, and assure you that we will continue to work hard at finding alternative solutions to this situation and will advise you once the situation has abated.

Resign - EX Chairman Tells NWC Members

Vincent Ogbulafor, former Chairman of PDP has asked members of the National Party to honorably resign in the interest of the party.
PDP Ex-Chairman Explains How Party Cost GEJ Elections
Vincent Ogbulafor
Ogulafor, speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Umuahia on Sunday, said the members of the party should be honourable by bowing out of its National Working committee.
The former Chairman said their resignation would be in the interest of the party as it would pave the way for fresh hands to steady the PDP ship ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Using the resignation of the National Chairman and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Adamu Muazu and Tony Anenih as excuses for party interest before personal interest, Ogbulafor called on the NWC members to resign.
“I feel happy about their resignation because I feel they did so in the interest of the party. So, I feel it is better for all the committee members to voluntarily resign if they love the party and want it to survive,’’ he said.
Ogbulafor said the present composition of the party took steps which worked against the re-election of president Goodluck Jonathan.
“The party played the politics of hate and exclusion, past national chairmen were completely excluded and were never invited to offer our own ideas on how to deliver Jonathan.
“When I was the chairman, I controlled 28 states and a majority in the National Assembly and also won additional four states for the party.
“Some of us performed better and have good ideas on how to keep PDP in power for as long as I predicted,’’ he said.
Ogbulafor had earlier predicted that PDP would rule Nigeria for uninterrupted 60 years but explained why his vision was not achieved.
“I made the prediction in clear conscience and realisation that it was achievable, given that PDP controlled 28 states, majority in the National Assembly and local government administration.
“So, there is nothing that could have stopped PDP if we were able to control the line-up.’’
Ogulafor also lamented the constant change in leadership of the party, “Since I left office, PDP has changed its chairmen five times. This is a pointer that all is not well with the party.
“This is why I am calling on the NWC members to quit without compulsion to pave the way for fresh blood that will bring vibrancy and help to move the party forward,’’ he said
Debunking rumours of a defection, the PDP Chieftain said his visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, John Oyegun, congratulate him in the spirit of sportsmanship following the party’s win at the Presidential elections.
Earlier today, the PDP Board of Trustees revealed that it will meet in Abuja on Monday to discuss the replacement of Chief Tony Anenih who resigned as chairman of the board during the week.
Meanwhile, former National Administrative Secretary of the party, Alhaji Habu Fari has declared interest to replace Adamu Muazu as the next National Chairman of PDP.
