The airport cleaner who returned the sum of N12 million to the owner may
have been honoured but she is begging for a better job from the
government.
Despite the accolades being showered on her, the airport cleaner who found and returned the sum of N12 million to a passenger at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Josephine Ugwu, the woman has appealed to the government to provide a better job for her.
The
woman who has been honoured by many government agencies, religious
bodies and the Lagos State House Assembly for her honesty and
patriotism, says she would be happier if she is given a better job with
the Federal Government.
Hear her:
"I
quite appreciate the Federal Government for the honour done to me, I
got an award from the National Orientation Agency. I really appreciate
their kind gesture. It really feels great to be honoured. I thank God
that I was remembered.
The man who
addressed me requested Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), to
provide a better job for me. I hope it works out.
I
was given N30,000. I was told that is the amount they give in reward
for any patriotic act. I am grateful for it but I need a better job."
