The rector who also doubles as a revrend father declined the invitation saying that he doesn’t respond to lower deities.
He said: “As a Catholic priest, I am a priest of the highest deity. It is absurd for me to honour an invitation from a lower deity”.
The rector said that his invitation might be due to his recent actions against fake results at the institution.
“The origin of the letter is a ripple effect of what I am doing to deal with the issue of fake results that is everywhere and to stop the lecturers in their extortion, which has sadly become a widespread way of life in the institution.“The council was a bit lenient last week when they met and stepped down some of the lecturers.“This is why they are resorting to panic measures to intimidate the authorities”, he said.
The invitation which was signed by one, Ukaegbu N. Ogidi asked the rector to undo his recent actions or appear at the shrined to prove his innocence at the risk of dying, if guilty.
“Ogwugwu kills only those whose hands are not clean, especially those who committed evil against their fellow human beings at work places, churches, mosques, markets and other public places,” Ogidi’s letter read.

The Okija shrine became renowned after a 2004 raid by security officials revealed several human corpses and skeletons, leading to a nationwide outcry and several arrests.
