The chairman, River state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Felix Obuah, has dismissed speculation that he had been on the run since the police began investigation into the killing of a former council boss in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.

A former caretaker committee chairman and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Chris Adube, was killed alongside three members of his family by gunmen a few days to the presidential election Punch reports.
But Obuah, who is one of the political leaders in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, said he knew nothing about Adube’s murder.
The state PDP chairman described himself as a ‘true Christian’, who will never be involved in the killing of anybody.
Obuah, who spoke through his Media Adviser, Mr. Jerry Needam, described insinuation that he is on the run as the machination of mischief makers, adding that the PDP was popular in the state and did not need to kill to win elections.
He said, “There is no truth in that one (That he is on the run). The State Chairman of the PDP held a thanksgiving service in ONELGA yesterday. He has been going about his business without hitch. So, it is not true that he is on the run.
“The rumour or speculation is coming from evil men, who wanted a particular political party to win the election, But they are disappointed that the PDP won the governorship and House of Assembly elections.
“He (Obuah) is innocent; he is not aware of any death. He is a true Christian and he cannot send anybody to kill a fellow human being. Those peddling this rumour will stop at nothing to try to deceive the (people of the) state.”
Speaking on the outcome of the elections in the state, Obuah explained that his party won because the people in the state were predominantly PDP, wondering why the APC thought it could win the elections in the state.
The Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who is also the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), recently inaugurated a nine-man commission of inquiry to look into the politically-motivated killings in the state.
Felix Obuah is a business magnate, politician and philanthropist originally from Omoku, Rivers State, Nigeria. He is currently the chairman of the Rivers state chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Obuah has served as council chairman of Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni local government area in Rivers State.
