Madth village in Biu L.G.A of Bornu State has been attacked by men suspected to be members of Boko Haram.
The village was said to have been raided by suspected Boko Haram militants.
Although details of the attack are still unclear, early reports said that terrified locals are already fleeing the village as sporadic shooting is heard in the area.
The purported attack comes amid a series of successful operations carried out recently by the Nigerian military.
The army has rescued hundreds of Boko Haram hostages from Sambisa Forest, the infamous hideout of the Islamist sect.
However, it was reported on Friday that the insurgents launched an attack at the College of Administrative and Business Studies in Potiskum, Yobe state.
At least one person was confirmed dead while 7 others were injured in what has been reported as a suicide bombing.
