SSS Promotiom Exercise Raises Dust

Dust are being raised  in offices of the State Security Service over the promotion exercise carried out by the leadership of the Service.


Over 45 individuals in the agency were promoted, including spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar.
Mrs. Ogar, who is a deputy director was last year accused of taking bribe before the 2014 Osun guber elections.

Mrs Ogar and 28 others was promoted from Grade Level 15 to 16 while 16 others moved to Grade Level 17 from 16.
This promotion is said to have been rushed due to the exit of the SSS leadership come May 29.
Some officials who were due for a promotion were left out despite being extremely qualified for the promotion.
These officials told Premium Times that they were dissatisfied with the process and some have gone so far as to tend their resignation letters.
However, Some state directors, although already issued retirement letters, surprisingly benefited from the exercise.
Some of them are one Achu B, who was the director in the Lagos office and a former director, technical, a Mr. Omeruyi.

Insiders in the SSS say that promotion usually tend to happen on July 1st every year but that the current one was conducted hurriedly by the leadership of the Service to reward its loyalists ahead of the May 29 handover date to a new administration.
Mrs Ogar failed to respond to the claims nor comment on the SSS promotion.

The Federal Government a month ago, ordered for all ministries, agencies and extra-ministerial departments to prepare their handover briefs ahead of May 29 inauguration of the incoming administration of Muhammadu Buhari.
The service chiefs and police were all affected by the order contained in a memo dated April 13 and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim.
