The Nation reports that an auto crash which occurred on the Benin-Warri expressway at Obayantor village has caused the death of three persons and left some others injured.
A commercial Toyota Hiace bus with registration number Lagos XL 617 AGL and a Toyota Sienna car with registration number Delta BUR 598 AA were reported to have been involved in the accident.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and the two vehicles were travelling on the Benin-Warri axis of the expressway.
They added that the accident happened when one of the two vehicles rammed into another, making both vehicles skid off the road.
One of the eyewitnesses said some of the injured passengers said they were travelling to Ekpoma, Edo State for a burial.
Lifeless bodies of the accident victims were laid on the ground while the injured ones were rushed to Stella Obasanjo Hospital in Benin.
Benin-Warri expressway is a notoriously dangerous expressway due to the high rate of accidents on the road which is mostly caused by the bad road which is already under reconstruction.
The expressway used to field 4 lanes but it is now being reconstructed to accommodate 6 lanes.
