Suspected Fulani herdsmen have launched an attack in Guma local government area of Benue state killing ten people, mostly women and children.
The gunmen according to Punch, were said to have stormed the village on Saturday evening, April 25, shooting anyone in sight.
The incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen which has claimed hundreds of life in the first quarter of this year alone is increasingly becoming a source of worry for governments and people mostly in the North-Central states.
On Monday, April 20, 2015, suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked some villages in Donga local government area of Taraba state killing between seven and fifteen people, with scores still missing.
Two weeks, ago the Eruku community of Kwara State begged authorities come to their aid following frequent attacks by suspected Fulani mercenaries. Oba Busari Olarewaju, the traditional ruler and other stakeholders of the community during a town hall meeting lamented that over seven members of the community, including a local hunter have lost their lives to attacks by suspected herdsmen.
A month ago herdsmen reportedly left sorrow, tears and blood in Udi Local Government area of Enugu State after hacking to death a prominent titled chief in Eke community.
