The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa state chapter, is probing some top aides of President Goodluck Jonathan for allegedly working against the interest of its candidate in the just concluded State House of Assembly elections.
According to The Trent, Senator Emmanuel Paulker and other chieftains of the party in the state are also being investigated for engaging in anti-party activities.
The party has reportedly queried some top party chiefs for openly supporting candidates of APGA, Labour Party and APC during the House of Assembly elections.
One instance which was highlighted by the party was the use of thugs by Senator Paulker and his wife to beat up a PDP agent for daring to challenge him when the senator was fronting for his preferred APGA candidate.
This is not the first time the PDP will be handling issues of divided loyalty among its members.
Before the presidential election, a group loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan warned him to be conscious of some of his Ministers and aides, alleging that they were actually working for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
