The All Progressives Congress Youth Forum has told the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, what they want from him.
The youth forum has asked Buhari to address the problem of unemployment and youth restiveness in the country, National Mirror reports.
The chairman of the group, Ismaeel Ahmed, who addressed a press conference yesterday in Abuja, urged the president-elect to include the youths in his new administration.
While congratulating him on his victory at the polls, Ahmed pointed out that the youths who stood for change should be remembered and honoured.

He said: “Young Nigerians, the foot soldiers of the respective campaigns of which many lost their lives, went from door-to-door to spread and preach the benefits of our party roadmaps, and today, we must remember and honour them. Today, we must begin to look at the sustainability of our party and begin to empower young people for the sake of the future that knocks ever so steadily on our door.”
The youth forum also called on Nigerians to hold leaders accountable for their actions, while urging young people to exercise patience with the new administration to reap the dividends of change.
Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC, won the March 28 election. Since his victory, he has been getting advice, warnings and support from concerned citizens.
The former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has advised him to realize that Nigerians are expecting a lot from him when he finally takes over power on May 29.
An opposition party, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has publicly pledged to support the president-elect.
The World Bank has tasked Buhari to tackle corruption if he wants his administration to be a success.
