Wolves calm over Leopards draw
Wolves, the only Nigerian club still in the running for continental success, will face the Congolese champions over two legs in the playoff round after the draw was conducted in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday.
Head coach of Wolves, Paul Aigbogun says “plans will be put in motion to ensure a safe passage to the next round at the expense of our opponents.”
“Actually, I am just hearing this from you (that Wolves will face Athlétic Club Léopards de Dolisie). I won’t say I am happy or sad because all teams that have reached this stage are very good teams.
“Don’t forget that they dropped from the Caf Champions League so they are a very solid side.
“We can assure Nigerians that plans will be put in motion to ensure a safe passage to the next round at the expense of our opponents,” he told supersport.com.
Wolves will travel to Stade Denis Sassou Nguesso, Dolisie, for the first leg of their playoff round tie against the Congolese champions on the weekend of May 15-17.
The second leg is billed to be held at the Warri City Stadium on the weekend of June 5-7.
