Following the PDP crisis, the party's National Chairman, Dr. Adamu Mu'azu is currently undergoing medical attention abroad.
However the nature of his illness is not yet known. Mu’azu’s Chief Press Secretary, Tony Amadi, said the PDP national chairman left Nigeria last week to seek medical help.

“The National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu is currently undergoing medical attention abroad and will return to the country as soon as his doctors are satisfied with his medical condition. He left the country last week and hopes to be back soon.
The leader of the party, President Jonathan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party Chief Tony Anenih and Senate President Senator David Mark and members of the National Working Committee of the party are all aware of the Chairman’s medical trip abroad.
Dr. Mu’azu appealed to party faithfuls to be patient as the travails facing the party will soon wither away and the party will be a united opposition to the incoming All Progressive Congress for the overall good of Nigeria.”

Recently the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison Madueke was rumored to have been seeking asylum in six different countries to avoid corruption charges ffrom the incoming administration, which she later denied.
