'Beware Of These People' - Rev. Emmanuel Tells Buhari

The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has been warned by the Diocesan bishop, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Egba, Rt Reverend Emmanuel Adekunle to be careful of the defectors from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
Adekunle gave this warning on April 21, Tuesday, while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, Punch reports.
He begged Buhari not to allow those defecting from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) pollute his administration.

Bishop Adekunle Emmanuel
According to him, it was necessary to warn the president-elect as those defecting to the APC had different ideologies and values.
The bishop said: “Since the APC won the presidential election, politicians from other political parties started moving to the APC.
“I must sound a note of caution, the president-elect should be careful of appointing those who are defecting from another political parties to the APC as ministers or into other key positions because they have different ideologies and values.
“They are coming from a different system. He should not appoint those who will pollute his administration.
“Nigerians are expecting much from him; so, he has to be careful about those who will work with him.”
Adekule beckoned on Buhari to appoint technocrats in different fields to fill his cabinet as the change Nigeria wants is about masses-oriented programmes.
He advised the president-elect to look beyond his political party when choosing his ministers, saying, “the issue is about building the country and not about building any political party.”
After emerging winner of the March 28 presidential elections, Muhammadu Buhari has been receiving a lot of advise, warnings and prayers, though he is yet to be sworn in. President Goodluck Jonathan will be handing over power to him on May 29.
A former Chief of General Staff, General Oladipo Diya, had earlier said Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo need prayers to be successful in their administration.

He added that they need God to tackle corruption in Nigeria without being frustrated.
