Several Nigerians took to Twitter to praise the Emir of Kano, Emir Sanusi for his courage to speak up on the alleged missing $20 billion oil money.
The
former Central Bank Governor who was the one that brought the issue of
the missing $20bn into limelight has reacted to the controversial audit
report by PricewaterhouseCoopers on the alleged missing money.
The Emir in an article titled “Unanswered questions on Nigeria’s missing oil revenue billions”,
published by the Financial Times of London, insisted that the PwC Audit
Report confirmed that about $18.5billion of the NNPC’s earnings was not
remitted to the treasury, contrary to what the Petroleum Minister Mrs.
Diezani Alison-Madueke claimed.
He
argued that the outstanding amount used by the NNPC for apparently
unlawful purposes such as kerosene subsidy, does not dismiss the notion
that the NNPC illegally withheld billions of oil dollars from the
government.
On
hearing of the Emirs insistence that the oil money was still missing,
several Nigeriansto to twitter to praise him for his courage.

In
February 2014, President Jonathan suspended Sanusi after his
accusations of missing oil revenue sparked a public outcry and criticism
against the government.
