According to reports making round, the Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos chapter, sacked its party’s chairman, Mr Tunji Shelle for misusing election campaign funds.
It was also gathered that the decision of the committee to sack Mr. Shelle is based on the belief that the ex-party chairman manipulated the party’s primaries last year, hence leading to the defeat of the PDP at the polls.
Moments after his dismissal, the committee appointed Mr. Kamaldeen Olorunoje to hold the office in acting capacity.

Mr. Shelle was shown the door out after a disciplinary committee was set up to investigate some allegations levelled against him.
Meanwhile, the PDP crisis at the federal level continues to soar as National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu has been faced with critics following his failure to deliver at the 2015 general elections.
With many senior members of the party blaming him for the loss, and demanding his resignation, the national chairman has repeatedly fired back at his critics insisting he would not resign despite the pressure being mounted on him to do so.
