Patrice Evra has revealed he is planning to becoming a coach when he retires after being tipped for the top by former Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson. The Juventus defender spent seven seasons plying
his trade under Ferguson at Old Trafford before the Scottish manager retired in 2013.
However, Ferguson, who spent 26 years in charge of United, did not depart without offering Evra some career advice.
"Before he left, Ferguson called me into his office," the Frenchman told Canal Plus.
"He said to me, 'Pat, I'm going to tell you something very important. There are two players in this team that are going to become great trainers: Ryan Giggs and you.'
"So, I got some of my coaching credentials while still in Manchester. Now I want to get my coaching diploma and then we'll see."
Evra spent another year at United after Ferguson's retirement before joining Juve on a free transfer last summer after agreeing a two-year contract with the Italian champions.
Giggs, meanwhile, has already begun his coaching career and is serving as an assistant to Louis van Gaal at United after a temporary stint as player-manager following the sacking of David Moyes last season.
