This weekend marked a big milestone for the city of Moncton, one of the six host cities of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™, as they celebrated their 125th anniversary with a four-day festival. And joining in on the party was the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola.
Fans answered questions in the FIFA locker room quiz, met Official Mascot Shuéme, tested their skills against the amazing Robot Goalie and lived the dream of walking through the Winner’s Tunnel before coming close to the holy grail of women’s football. Everyone who came to the experience were able to take home a photo with the official FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy.
The Trophy Tour fan experience was a key part of the free festival at Riverfront Park alongside the Petitcodiac River and was open for everyone from Thursday 23rd April until Sunday 26th. Festival-goers were also treated to an exclusive performance from Canadian rock band Simple Plan on the Friday evening.
Earlier last week the Trophy Tour had been in Hallifax where Canadian football player and London 2012 Olympic Bronze Medallist - Melanie Booth - joined the football community at Soccer Nova Scotia.
Next stops on the Trophy Tour is Kingston and Toronto and you can stay tuned to the latest updates via Facebook.com/fifawomensworldcup and Twitter.com/FIFAWWC #FIFAWWC.
